Walking

The walks that we will be organising will vary from walking along the seafront, the coastline, around local parks and out in the countryside. The reason for the variety in walks is all down to each individual and what they wish to do. It is also about each person and what they feel
comfortable doing, so people may enjoy a walk along the seafront on a tarmaced pavement, whereas other may enjoy a long country walk which would include muddy areas, its all down to each individuals needs and desires.

We are looking to do regular walks throughout Essex, so walks along the seafront in:

Southend-on-Sea, Leigh-on-Sea & Chalkwell, Frinton & Walton on the Naze, Wivenhoe and others.

There are many places to go walking in the countryside and these include:

Brentwood, Chelmsford, Danbury, Maldon, Witham and Wivenhoe to name just a few.

As for parks, there are so many about, depending on where people would like to walk, this would change location each time and hopefully on a weekly basis too.

What will I need to bring?

Each walk is different but there will always be certain things that you will need. The first thing to make sure you have before coming on a walk is to have the correct walking shoes or boots for the terrain. Each walk will specify what the terrain is, but it will be up to the individual as to
what they which to wear. Good clothing is another essential when out walking and dressing for the conditions. We will send out an email a day before the event to let people know what the weather conditions will be like and then you can bring the correct clothing for the walk.

Always come with at least one drink as it is essential that you keep hydrated throughout the walk and maybe a bar of chocolate or something to snack on incase you get hungry along the walk. There will be times available to stop for a drink, this may include a stop at a refreshment facility
along the way. You are more than welcome to bring your own food and drinks but please remember to take all your empty bottles and food wrappers home with you or use the waste bins provided along the walk. We respect the countryside and condemn leaving any unwanted litter about.

When on walks we do ask aeveryone to respect the countryside and the area you are in and all others that are around. You are welcome to bring your dog with you on a walk, but we do ask for you to keep them on their lead at all times.

How much does it cost?

The cost of a walk will be a minimal charge and we plan to put many money raised from walks to charities that we feel would benefit. We are looking into the ideal of doing a monthly subscription where you would pay a fee and can join any of the walks and events we offer, emails about future walks, weather reports for walks and also giving money to charities.
